Be the Best Version of Yourself
This is just a version of the golden rule that attentive parents and grandparents try to imprint on their children from a young age: “Treat others as you would want to be treated.” This credo will help you be successful within your professional and social lives. Unless you are good to the people around you, you are a kind and giving person, you’re not going to enjoy this life. People aren’t going to want to be around you if you are an angry, bitter, Cheeto-fingered, basement dweller. |
Do Something You Enjoy
Life is a lot easier when you are passionate about something--school, work, relationships, a hobby, something. The point is a person needs to have passion. The key is you have to have something within your life that you look forward to--a reason to wake up. It has become a cliche--but cliches are true for a reason--if you love what you do, you'll never have to work a day in your life. It's cheesy. And it's true. |
Remember...
We're Just Monkeys Figuring It Out I try to think of this particular quote from comedian Joe Rogan at least once a day. I can get lost in the minutiae of life and run over by all of the day-to-day activities that seem SO important; however, when I take a look at the big picture, nothing really seems as important as it does in the moment. And I have to remind myself that everyone else is trying to figure it out too. Cut people some slack--you don't know how their day has gone. We're all just trying to figure it out. |
